Homegrown… Straight Outta’ Newport.

C&C Food Company was created in January of 2020. Christian and Chase Arment (hence C&C Food Co.) are twin, 16 year old brothers from Newport, Rhode Island. While in grade school, they took some cooking classes and had tons of fun learning how to cook, but their favorite thing to make was pizza. Every where we went we tried the pizza… New York to London — Positano to Boston, pizza was tasted and tested and compared to every previous pie. They religiously followed (and still follow) Dave Portony from Bar Stool Sports “One bite...everyone knows the rules” Pizza reviews.

Their passion for pizza, especially Christian’s, grew in the year 2019. Christian was met with a serious medical challenge that forced him to home school for a year. Being that he was not in school or school sports he ended up with a little free time on his hands and started cooking pizzas and created his own sauce. It is hard to count how many pizzas were made in our house over the last two years, but perfecting the sauce became an obsession.

Christian wanted a zesty and light sauce with a citrusy flavor. And Chase was effortlessly obliged to taste all of Christian’s test runs. Both Christian and Chase loved the zesty sauce from the Napoli region in Italy that they experienced on their 9th birthday and they decided that would be the standard from which they would create a sauce. Christian also wanted to name the sauce in the Italian version of his name, so “Christiano’s Pizza Sauce” was created.

OUR FAVORITE CHRISTIANO’S COMBOS

Prosciutto please.

Prosciutto, sweet Vidalia onion, shredded Gruyere cheese.
Christian digs this combo and it is a nice switch up from the Margherita. Prosciutto di parma, speck – pepperoni even – any ham will suffice. It’s a delicious combination of the salty and sweet. This marriage of flavors is made perfect with a light handed dollop of Christiano’s Pizza Sauce as the base.

Mangare.

The Margherita. Fresh bocconcini mozzerella, basil from the garden or the market. It’s a brilliant and simple combination of flavors that is also an homage to the flag of Italy and the Queen consort of Italy, Margherita of Savoy. The Neapolitan pizza maker Raffaele Esposito created the recipe – viva la pizza!

Yep, pineapple, that’s right.

Pineapple, peppered salami and feta. Sweet, salty, spicy. For the pineapple on pizza naysayers – try this combination at least once. The heat of the pepper with the warm, charred pineapple and salty feta may convert you.

“Without a doubt. Everybody likes it. It’s the perfect food. It’s God’s gift to food.”
